TIMOTHY J. LEMON
#152 BROTHER ON-POINT
My name is Timothy Joseph Lemon. I am 19 years old and a freshman culinary major at Johnson & Wales University. I was born and raised in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. I have two very loving parents, Bob and Mary Jo, an older brother Bobby, who is 21 and the best dog in the world, Star. My family is a huge part in my life, and they are always there for me no matter what. This past year has been very tough being that I am over six hours away from them. But my parents raised me right, and showed me how to be a strong independent young man. Both of my parents are very hard workers and they taught me how to be a hard worker as well. I started landscaping with my Dad at a young age. My dad owns and operates his very successful, one man army of Lemon Landscape for over 30 years so far. From the day I was able to get my working papers, I have always had a steady job. Looking back at my upbringing, I wasn't always the easiest kid to deal with, but seeing where I am today makes me so grateful to have such amazing and loving parents who care.
Most of my influences when I was growing up was from my brother. I would always get his hand me downs, I would follow the music he was listening to and basically always try to follow in his footsteps. My brother was always tough on me and rarely cut me any slack. I may not want to admit it but he was the one who lead me to be the person I am today. In some way, his bullying and tough personality towards me taught me how to be stronger and more independent.
In high school I always had my own unique style and at times, was picked on for it. But I was never one to worry about what other people thought about me. You still will catch me in a XXL tall tee with a pair of skinny jeans underneath. It was the way I liked to be, and that’s all that mattered to me. A lot of that unique style and influence came from snowboarding, which is the second biggest part of my life. I've been snowboarding for about 8 years now and it means a lot to me. Snowboarding influenced the way I dressed, sometimes how I acted, and who I would hang out with. It consumed my life in middle and high school completely. Oddly enough, snowboarding gave me the confidence I have today.
During the Fall trimester at JWU, not for a second did I think about Greek Life. I had the typical mindset of what I thought a “frat guy” was and that never sat well with me. The chain of events that happened during late Fall to early Winter trimester were crazy, but landed me helping my friend and now current pledge brother, Josh, Djing at some of the TEP parties. Going into it, I expected to help out Josh, play some music, get ignored by a lot of people who thought they were better than me and then leave. But from the moment I walked into the TEP House, it was nothing but love. Various Brothers introduced themselves to me, and surprisingly cared to find out who I was, which blew my mind. After a couple weeks, and a lot of parties, I started hanging out with the guys on a more regular basis. During this time it showed me what kind of bond they had, as a Brotherhood. It helped me learn about their ideals, which are very important to me. It made me want to join TEP and be a part of something bigger, and in turn give me the opportunity to give back to the community. I will do everything in my power to be able to join TEP, and if accepted, try my best to preserve the traditions and help better the future.
JOSEPH A. RILLI
#153 BROTHER AMBASSADOR
My name is Joseph Anthony Rilli and I was born on April 2, 1991. I was raised in Nutley, New Jersey by my mother Debra and my father Joseph. I have one older brother named Vincent and a younger sister named Christina. My family is very important to me and has always been supportive of me throughout my life.
One of the most difficult challenges in my life was dealing with my parent’s lengthy divorce at the age of 14. Their divorce affected me greatly and was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to deal with. In the end it made me the much more stronger person that I am today.
From a young age sports has always played a large role in my life. Beginning with baseball, soccer, hockey, wrestling, and eventually rowing I’ve learned many lessons and life skills from sports. Throughout my four years of high school, rowing became my life. I devoted most of my free time to my team whom eventually became my second family. Our team’s hard work lead to us qualifying for three national championships and three appearances in the state championship finals. These are some of what I consider my greatest accomplishments including becoming captain of the varsity crew team my senior year.
Before attending Johnson & Wales University, Greek Life was always something I’ve considered. After learning about the opportunities some fraternities have to offer I knew it was something I wanted to do. Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity has given me an opportunity to better myself and learn skills that will assist me for the rest of my life.
JOSHUA N. WECHSLER
#154 BROTHER THEMIS
My name is Joshua Neil Wechsler. I am 19 years old and from Orange, CT. I have a 17 year old sister named Genna who is a junior in high school. My Dad’s name is Larry and was in a fraternity in college also. He wasn’t a big part of it after he left but tells many stories of the fun and excitement that he had during those days. My Mom’s name is Cindy and she is the person who has inspired me most in my life and helped me to become the person that I am today.
I came in to Johnson & Wales University knowing very few people and not much about Providence. My first few months at school were kind of slow and even though I had met a lot of people I still didn’t feel that I was getting the true college experience. It wasn’t until I met Brother Roc-A-Fella that I realized just how much I was missing out on.
One of my friends was talking to him at Asian Bistro one day when we went in to grab food. After a little while I went up and introduced myself and once I heard that he was in a fraternity I told him that I was a DJ and that he should call me if he wanted to throw a sick party. A few weeks later I got the opportunity that I had been looking for and found myself DJing my first fraternity party with my friend Tim. It’s all history from there. Everybody was so cool to us and glad that we came through.
I had not wanted to be a part of a fraternity when I entered college. I had heard all the rumors about them and did not want to put myself though the long process and aggravation that pledges had to go through. However after meeting and hanging with the TEP Brothers I knew that I wanted to be a member of Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity.
